How To Get Traffic to Your Blog

No matter what your blog is about, in order for it to be successful, you need to have a steady and stable flow of traffic to your blog so as to profit.

There are just too many issues to consider when it comes to getting traffic, and often people that are able to create traffic to their blogs are known as masters of the internet. The truth is that creating traffic to your blog is simpler than you think. It just takes some creative thinking from you and a few hours a day of unashamed promotion.

So after you deplete the traffic sources from your family and friends, who else can you pester to read your blog? The answer is probably not a soul unless you provide them a good reason to read it. This is in fact the number one traffic driving secrets when it comes to the topic of blog traffic.

The most excellent way to obtain traffic to your blog is by using free promotional methods. The key is to have something on your blog that is worth checking out when visitors get there. There are probably millions of blogs out there and even if you manage to bring traffic to your blog, they are not going to stay at your blog for long unless there is a compelling reason for them to do so. Therefore, before you even begin creating traffic to your blog, you should first think of a free promotion that can entice people to remember your blog and visit your blog again.

The first step you can do to get traffic to your blog is by joining all the forums and social networks related to your niche. If you have a blog that is related to dating advice, make sure that you join all the dating forums you can find on the web. Just go to Google and type "dating forum" and you are likely to find many of them. Check out their Alexa ranking to make sure it is a forum with high traffic. Don't waste your time on forum with little traffic.

Once you are at a forum, the first thing you need to do is find out how you can post your link. Usually you are allowed to post your blog link in your signature. Set up your signature file with your blog link. Once this is completed, take a few hours each day to post useful comments in the forums. Eventually people will start considering you an expert in your niche and they will be keen to check out your site.

The next traffic generation is another important one, which is to submit articles to free article directories. Note that you may not want to submit your blog posts to these article directories as that will affect your search engine ranking. The article you've submitted should have a link to your blog, so when these article directories publish your articles, the readers of your articles will follow through the link to your blog. Article marketing can not only bring instant traffic to your website but also increase the search engine ranking of your blog at the same time.

Last but not least, start getting people to opt in to your list and setup RSS feeds for your blog. This allows the subscribers to enjoy your blog in the comfort of their email inbox by selecting the option on your blog software to email your blog post every time a new one is up. This will be a method to draw daily traffic to your blog for free, and keep the traffic you obtain from your forum posting returning to your blog.

Generating Traffic - Top 5 Ways To Get Traffic To Your Site

Traffic generation is easily the most important, and the easiest to make mistakes with area of internet marketing. To make any sort of income, you need sales. To make any kind of sales, you need traffic and leads. AS such, traffic generation should be one of your highest priorities. However there are many mistakes some people make, such as buying cheap traffic off of one of the guaranteed traffic services. Don't do that! It's about he quality of traffic and not the quantity. But how do you go about generating more traffic to your site? Here are the top 5 ways (in no particular order, as some of these methods work better for different kind of products):

1. Using Opt-In Lists - Opt-in lists are an essential part of any marketing campaign. These people are on a list because of the previous interest shown in the topic. This topic is generally broader than your product. For example, you might have a great apple slicer that you're trying to promote. The list you're promoting to though is a list about apple recipes. As such, not all users are interested in your product. While this is a very good method with a large subscriber base for some quick profits, this is not necessarily the best way to go about getting more traffic to you site. The good thing about this is that the generated traffic generally converts well. The people follow on to the site because they are mildly interested at the least.

2. PPC - This is highly targeted, though it can be very costly. Pay-per-click advertising, if done right, will bring results quicker than just about every other promotion method out there. The problem with PPC advertising to generate traffic is two-fold. It's expensive, and it's competitive. You have to be very careful about what product you choose to promote with this, and at the very least, you will need to spend some time doing your keyword research and optimizing your campaigns. This is essential. As such, this can be a long and hard process.

3. Organic Search Engine Traffic - Organic search engine traffic is probably the hardest to come by, though it is nearly as targeted as PPC. The competition to get the top spot is just outrageous, and to build a site, have enough back links to it, and enough good content that is regularly updated to make the engines love it is not easy. As such, this is a hard way to generate the traffic to your site. But if you manage it, you could be raking in money in no time.

4. Getting Traffic Through Traffic Exchanges - Yes, they still do work. Though much more un-targeted than any other source of traffic, traffic exchanges are still a valuable traffic generating tool. Even though they generate a ton of traffic to your site, most of them will not result in sales...but some will. That's the important and the good part with this. Traffic generation with traffic exchanges is quick, easy and free. So any sales are all profit. You have to be patient for this, but the results do come.

5. Writing Articles - Writing relevant articles about the issue at hand will help bring very targeted visitors to your site too! And lots of them if you're diligent. There are some really good sites out there that will rank your articles high in the search engines, such as EzineArticles.com. This is probably the best way to go because of the zero capital requirements and great returns that are possible on this.

How To Promote Your Landing Page And Get Traffic Fast

You finally have your landing page up. It doesn't matter if it is to promote an affiliate offer, your own product, or a newsletter subscription. You need traffic to make sales. This article will discuss methods of gaining traffic to promote your landing page.

You heard it before, but I am still going to talk about it. Why? Because it is one of the most effective methods of gaining high quality traffic that converts into sales without spending any money on advertising. If you haven't guessed it, I am talking about article marketing. You can promote your landing page by writing articles based on your niche and submitting them to article directories. Chances are your reading this from a article directory right now.

You promote your landing page three ways by writing articles. First from the article directories themselves. If you didn't know, most article directories allow you to have a resource box at the bottom of every article you submit. In this resource box you may talk more about yourself and have a link back to your landing page. If can you write a well informative article, chances are readers will visit your website and see what other content you have to offer. By simply writing an article, you are promoting your landing page at the same time. The thing to remember about article directories is, many of them rank high in the search engines and can put your article on the main page for a very popular keyword.

The second way you gain traffic is from other webmasters who desperately need content for their web sites. Submitting your articles to these directories will alert other webmaster that you have content they can publish. They publish your article with your resource box intact allowing traffic flow from their websites to yours.

Lastly, you will gain back links to your landing pages which boost your rankings in the search engine results. As your articles get distributed across the internet by article directories and other webmasters, you are gaining back links. The more back links you have, the higher you'll rank in the search engines. I've had niche sites rank on the first page results in the search engines and all I did to promote them was writing articles.

Another way you can promote your landing page is by using pay-per-click advertising. PPC or pay-per-click advertising will allow you to promote your landing page instantly. Immediate traffic will allow you test, tweak, and modify the contents of the landing page and know instantly whether those modification produced better results. PPC advertising is the fastest method to gain traffic to your page in the shortest amount of time. It is the method I recommend if you have done proper research, your able to calculate your conversion metrics, and you have sufficient funds to get started.

Traffic Building - Triple Your Traffic Fast!

Traffic building is such an elusive thing when you first get started online, but once you are getting a few hundred visitors a day and you are converting 40% of them to subscribers, it doesn't feel so difficult.

Traffic building is such an elusive thing when you first get started online, but once you are getting a few hundred visitors a day and you are converting 40% of them to subscribers, it doesn't feel so difficult.

These are the tactics I have personally used to triple my traffic and triple my list in the last 60 days:

1) Article Marketing. This is the cornerstone of my traffic foundation. I receive around 30 subscribers per day just from articles I write and publish daily. And I mean daily. If you look at my article count on EzineArticles, you will see about 250 articles - and that number is growing everyday. I simply commit to spending an hour or more everyday writing and submitting articles. If you set your mind to it, you too can crank out 10 or so articles per day.

2) Solo ad advertising in ezines. This is great traffic because the visitors that come to you from this traffic are already list subscribers, and they click through to offers -evidenced by the fact that they clicked through from a list to get to your opt in page. By the way, don't try to sell anything in the solo ads, just give something away and get the subscriber. It is much easier (most people are trying to sell to make up the money they spend on the ad), and you will make more on the subscriber than you would on the one-time purchase.

3) Google Adwords. Now I will say that the jury is still out on this. It has helped my numbers, but that is it for now. The subscribers I have accumulated through this expensive method are not opening their emails at the same rate as article marketed subscribers, and have not paid for themselves yet.

If you incorporate techniques number one and two, and maybe some of number three, you will have a certain increase in traffic and subscribers.

Don’t fall for these 4 Website Traffic Mistakes

You can have the greatest website in the world, but if nobody knows about it then you will fail. It’s like having a billboard in the desert that nobody sees.

Not all website traffic is created equal. There is general traffic and targeted traffic. General traffic will have a low sales conversion of 1% or less. Targeted traffic often yields a much higher sales conversion rate of 4% and higher. Most websites rely on general traffic and have a pitiful sales conversion rate of 0.5%.

Four common things that people fall for when they go online:

1. They think that high conversion rates are the norm. You will not get 10% or higher sales conversion all the time. This is virtually impossible.

2. They spend money on unnecessary website traffic programs. Programs and websites that claim they can send you thousands of website visitors within 24 hours are garbage. They might send you traffic, but it is general traffic full of people that won’t buy anything. You will waste your money on these website traffic programs.

3. They are happy with general traffic. This is a mistake. Instead, focus on obtaining targeted traffic. It is not the quantity of traffic your website receives, but the quality. You want people who are eager and hungry for your niche and the products you create.

4. They don’t care about the quality of the their website visitors. The quality of your website visitors determines how much money you will make. It will determine how many sales you make, how many repeat customers you have, and so on.

The best type of traffic method is through referrals. You can generate referrals by running your own affiliate program. Try to set one up if you can. You set up your own affiliate program through websites such as Clickbank. Clickbank will deal with payment and the details for you. This is an affordable and easy way to create your own affiliate program. In the future, you can run your own affiliate program using 1ShoppingCart.

If you need to generate targeted website traffic within minutes then use pay-per-click advertising. Pay-per-click advertising means you run ads on other people’s websites. You can accomplish this through Google AdWords. Your advertisement appears on related websites. Your advertisement will have a link. People click on this link and are sent to your website. You pay each time a website visitor actually clicks on your Google Ad link.

How to Avoid the Biggest Website Traffic Mistakes

Website traffic is the lifeblood of your business! The more you get, the more money you're probably going to make! I want to show you how to avoid the top 2 biggest mistakes & how to turn them to your advantage so you can get thousands of visitors to your website...

Traffic Mistake #1 - Trying To Get It From To Many Sources:

This is by far the biggest mistake people make online. It is very easy to try and get traffic from 40 different sources like pay per clicks, SEO, banner ads, articles, web 2.0, exc. You need to focus on one of them and once you start to get at least 100+ visitors a day from that single traffic source, then move on to the next one. I currently use a lot of different traffic sources to get traffic, but I have built them up and mastered them over the years.

Traffic Mistake #2 - Not Focusing On Automating It:

To many people try and go after the sexy traffic techniques like video & web 2.0 traffic. This is great but the only problem is that it is not automated! Every day you have to keep working on getting more of this type of traffic. Where as if you focus on truly automated strategies then you don't have to work everyday to get the same traffic you go the day before! I spent 20 hours over a year ago working on a traffic strategy that still brings in over 4,000 visitors a month for me like clock work!

Dangerous Website Traffic Mistakes You Want to Avoid

When it comes to getting website traffic you want to make sure you avoid some of the most dangerous mistakes people make. If you make some of these mistakes, you will insure of not getting any traffic. In this article I want to show you exactly how to avoid them and what to do instead so you can succeed.

Mistake #1:

Buying too much traffic before you know your customer value. This is a common mistake that people make when they are getting traffic. They will buy a massive amount of visitors and then hope they buy something.

The reality is you need to make sure you know what your customer value is before you buy a lot of traffic. Test the traffic first and make sure it converts to sales. Then once you have proven this - buy as much as you can afford!

Mistake #2:

Outsourcing your traffic generation. This is a big mistake that people make that also causes a lot of them to go out of business and wind up broke.

The reason is this - if you outsource all your traffic generation, your putting your most valuable skill set in someone else's hands who does not care about your business as much as you do.

So you need to either do it yourself, or get someone to do it but you still control the process.

The bottom line is that if you avoid these mistakes you will greatly enhance your chances of success online and will get much more traffic in the process.

Website Traffic Finder - How to Get Targeted Audience to Visit Your Site

A website traffic finder technique can be as simple as talking about your site. However, getting people to view your site is not enough. What's the use of having a big number of visitors if you cannot convert these visitors to consumers, particularly if your site is selling something or offering a service? Finding online traffic should not just be about quantity; it should also be about quality.

Targeted traffic

Let's say your website is selling home decors and furniture. Primarily, your target audience should be homeowners, women or mothers who are likely to decorate homes and professional interior decorators. Although having a lot of people viewing your website is not a bad idea, your main focus should be who is doing the viewing. Your target traffic should be online searchers who are most likely to purchase from your site.

Get your target audience interested

So how do you get your target audience to view your site? How do you make potential buyers take that first step? First, advertise. Online advertising doesn't really cost that much. The key is to identify the places where your advertisements will get the most attention. You can reach your target traffic by advertising on sites where these people are likely to surf. Web pages that have related interests as your site should be your main focus if you are to advertise your online wares.

Get a high search engine rank

If you don't want to spend too much money on advertising, then you had better get your site on top of major search engine lists for your target terms. Make sure that whenever an online visitor type the keywords associated with your content, he or she will see your site at or near the top of the list or at the first page of a search engine. You can achieve this through search engine optimization. Use keywords that are most likely to be used by online visitors in the title tags of your pages and in the content of your web site.

Get affiliated

Having online affiliations will also help your cause. Get your site mentioned or bookmarked on other sites by building an online social network, joining online forums, having a presence in major social pages and by talking about your site when chatting with other online users. Get as much exposure as possible by being active on the Internet. Post comments, chat and communicate with other web site operators.

Effective website traffic finder techniques identify target audiences. You just don't focus on getting the most number of visitors, you also focus on luring targeted traffic or suitable audiences to your site. Dedication and hard work are the best tools in getting that targeted traffic to flow into your site.

Website Backlinks - Are Yours Worthless?

There's no doubt that website backlinks are an important element in search engine rank optimization. Webmasters spend a lot of their time (and some exclusively) building up external backlinks.

Are all backlinks equal?

No. In fact, some backlinks are worthless in the eyes of Google. It's important to know the difference so that you don't waste your time and money.

It is well-known that the higher the page rank (PR) of the website that your backlinking from, the more SEO value it has. But what is not well-known is that links with an attribute of "nofollow" are not worth anything (in terms of SEO) in the eyes of Google.

Most Wordpress blogs, by default now, have links in the Comments area set to "no follow". This has been done in an effort to cut down on spam comments which is rampant.

How can you tell if links on a site are "nofollow" or not?

One way is to right-click on the webpage and from the pop-up menu select "View Source" or "View Page Source". This will bring up the html code. If you see between the tags, then every link on that page is nofollow.

If you see rel="nofollow" within a link then that particular link is set to nofollow.

A quicker way to find out is to install a Firefox plugin (you have to be using the Firefox web browser for this to work) called NoDoFollow. Once installed, if you right-click on any webpage and select "NoDoFollow" from the pop-up menu, all the links on the webpage will be highlighted either purple or red. If red, it means that that particular link is a nofollow link.

How to Get High Page Rank With Back Links - The Best Back Link is in Google's Backyard

It is true that the paid per click advertising is the fastest method to get traffic to your website, but not everyone can afford that, not everyone can have success with that, the competition is very tight, (I know advertisers which are spending ten thousands dollars per day on AdWords campaigns and are using one million keywords in their campaigns), so, when you are new in town, you don't have too much chances to succeed, unless if you come up with something unheard and unseen, and then nobody will look for it.

The free targeted traffic provided by the search engines is the most costless and the safest option for you to run an e-business. But, when you launch a new website, it is a little bit hard to get noticed by the search engines, and even then, it takes time to rank high, because one of the point of view of the search engines in categorizing a website is the age, and they are right, it takes time to gain popularity. So, one of your chances to gain popularity is to gather back links to your website. There are the well known methods, like article marketing, blogging, lenses in Squidoo, Hub pages, search engines and web directories submission, but I want to give you a tip about a special back link, which is right in the Google's backyard. It's called "Google Profiles".

Type in Google Search "Google Profiles", and you will be pointed at the Google's page with the profiles of the owners of Google accounts. If you don't have a Google account you can open one for free in few minutes, and in about ten minutes you can set up your Google profile. You will have to fill the form which is provided there, but you can give only the information you desire (I suggest you to give correct information, if you want to keep something for yourselves, leave the space blank, and that's it, you don't have to lie), and here comes the best part. Google will search all the websites which you own on the net, and gives you the possibility to add the ones which are not yet in his database. And here is your back link to Google and your way to notice Google that you have a new website.

More than that, although Google does not allow you to add tags to your profile, he invites you to post your profile in your "Google Readers" account, and there you can add all the tags you want. If you don't have a "Google Readers" account, open one for free. It is very useful and you can post there bookmarks of all your published articles, blog posts, Squidoo lenses and Hub pages, gaining more exposure for your website. If you want more tips related to affiliate marketing, visit my site.

High PR Backlinks - SEO Magic

Only recently have I really enjoyed the kind of SEO success that you read about. The kind where people start writing ebooks feverishly in order to cash in before the next Google slap...

The kind where you start having visions of being able to retire to an island somewhere...

The fact of the matter is that the secret to amazing SEO success is no big secret at all. High PR Backlinks work every time. It's just a matter of finding enough of these and spending the time to post your links with your keywords or keyword phrases as anchor text.

The important thing is to make sure the links are posted in an area where they are Do Follow.

You will hear several myths about posting your backlinks that should be busted:

1. The page you post the link to must have a High PageRank and not just the domain itself. If the sites homepage has a high PR, the SEO juice will pass to your site regardless of the PR of the page your link is on.
2. You can't rank for keywords that your site doesn't have sufficient density for. Not true. If this were true, you wouldn't see any YouTube videos ranking for their tags. Just post enough of your links with anchor text and you will rank!
3. Your backlinks must come from relevant sites or they are worthless. Google knows that links occur randomly. It's enough that the links are coming from High PR sites. They know that people have varied interests, so they are just looking for volume. The benefit you get from site relevancy is that people seeing the links are more likely to click.
4. Sites on the first page of Google all have thousands of inbound links and it will take you years to catch up. Some do have thousands of backlinks, but you don't have to compete with that. You are just competing with those having the exact same keyword or keyword phrase as anchor text.

If you look for High PR Web 2.0 Community websites you will find a ton of places you can post your links. You will usually be posting them in your profile in a section with a heading something like "About Me". It does take some time to set these profiles up, as you should upload a profile pic and add some personal info to avoid being banned for link spam.

Pay particular attention to the sites that let you make blog posts. This is a great place to post articles and have no limit to the number of links per post. Again this will take some time investment, but the important thing is that these backlinks will last a long time, and so will your Google rankings!

3 Stupid Mistakes in Getting Free Backlinks

Backlinks makes you money. Top SEO experts know this because higher rankings means more traffic and more traffic means more money.
This is why they often blow a small fortune on buying back links. There's no doubt that buying a couple of high page rank back links can significantly boost your rankings. However, the "small guy" has one advantage and that is the ability to get out there and build thousands of free backlinks.

Free back links is probably one of the easiest ways to significantly improve your Google Page Rank without spending any money. By investing some of your time, you can literally get backlinks from thousands of websites - many of them authority sites that can pass their value down to your page rank.

Because building free backlinks is so time consuming many SEO companies can't afford to invest time in it. Just because it is free, you should never underestimate just how effective it can be. If you consistently build free back links, you can get your site up to a PR5 easily.

Because getting free backlinks is so time consuming you have to do it right to maximize the linkjuice you get from each and every link. Spending hours building links that carry a low value is just a waste of time. There are 3 big mistakes that most website owners make when building free back links.

Link building Mistake #1

Reciprocal links used to be the link building strategy of choice a couple of years ago. Basically it's an exchange of links between 2 sites. You link to me and I link to you. We both benefit, right? Well, not anymore. Reciprocal links are fast becoming absolute as Google is catching on to this practice. With link farms springing up all over the net, getting thousands of reciprocal links became too easy. One way links carries a lot more value and although reciprocal links are an easy way to get free links, it is time intensive and probably not even worth it anymore.

Link building Mistake #2

Google's page rank algorithm is getting smarter and smarter. One of the big changes in the way page rank is calculated is Google's ability to determine relevancy. This is where anchor text comes in. Anchor text is the highlighted hypertext that contains the actual link. What this allows Google to see is what the link is for. It helps them determine how relevant the link is based on the keywords and the site it's linking to and from. When building free links you should always try and use anchor text in your back links. It will give you some additional link juice.

Link building Mistake #3

These days a lot of forums and blogs have a tag called the "nofollow tag" which basically tells the search engine spiders not to follow links in the site. If you get a backlink from a site with a nofollow tag it won't be picked up by the search engines and it won't count as a link. Although there's a lot of debate on whether these actually count as links it is probably not worth your time and effort to build links from nofollow sites. Get yourself the SEO Addon for Firefox which will automatically highlight nofollow links.

Building free back links is all about getting as much link juice as possible for every link you build. It can take a lot of time to build free backlinks and maximizing the effects of each link goes without saying. By just avoiding these 3 mistakes you can exponentially increase the effectiveness of your links. Regardless of what you do, you have to keep building links. Links will get you ranked and links will make you more money.

5. Twitter : If there are many following you then twitter is a great way to have back links too. Its one of the new ways to have back links now a days.

6. Wis.dm : This is a new site where you can ask many questions and answer them. Just pick one with your related topic and then give your site's link.

7. Hub pages and Squidoo : These sites let you build pages in the net along with great back links to support you site. But there is a difference in squido and hub pages. You have to be careful in Hub pages for back links as it lets you add more links than the squido for your site.

8. Google alert for keywords : This is one of the primary way to get updated about your keywords on the internet. Each time for setting up a new site you have to set Google alert for your keywords. For this you get news whenever anyone sets up a new blog on that keyword and you can add your link in that new blog.

9. Directory submission : This method also contain social book marking and many web directory submission. This is a tedious way of doing back links as there are tons of directories and you just can count on any sources. Just take an half hour each day to submit in different directories. But now a days there are many software available that submits automatically to the directories.

10. Social Book marking Site : Its one of the best ways of creating great back links but only if you have much friends and their time. This is a method where you and you friends post and comment on your own keywords leaving you with great back links. But you really want good friends and a great popularity to get this done.

11. Video marketing : Now a days it is very popular among the upcoming web programmers to launch their sites video in different video sites like you tube or other videos site. This gains much traffic to your site rather than back links but it's an innovative way too.

12. Link exchange : This is one of the ways for the bigger fish with money and less time. There are plenty of sites that sale your link on their ranked site. The higher the PR(page rank) the higher the price. But sometimes if you are out for a look and good communicative skill then you can even buy yourself a free back link in any related site of your preferred keyword. Of course the owner must be as eager as you to let you use his site for free! But be careful about the link farming sites. Those are strictly not supported by the search engine crawlers.

The Mistakes :

The common mistakes on creating back links is giving your site's link in those sites where you site would not be followed as it is coded in the robot text. Then you site would not be found in the results of your wished keywords.

Another thing is that posting your links in irrelevant sites. This a common mistakes among the amateurs. If you do this then the search crawlers will be taking this as a spamming and cut you off their search.

So this should be taken seriously as if you get cut off by the search engine's crawler then it would be a disaster in your way of getting a good page rank.

Perfect way :

Perhaps you have already found out that there is no ultimate way of having great back links. But to get in the wrong direction, a thousand doors are open. So be careful with creating back links. Stay updated and most of all spend time. That's what is important to learn here. The methods may change, the outputs may differ but there are no other ways rather than being steady and industrious over the matter.

So I have tried to go through all the matters found in the great cookbook of creating back links but the world of back linking is changing. So with great keywords, contents and most important great back links can get you a higher search engine optimization.

Internet Marketing Articles - Creating Backlinks to Your Articles

Writing internet marketing articles is a very powerful and efficient way to promote internet marketing products. Many internet marketers prefer this strategy because of its obvious advantages. Article marketing is free, and it is very viral.

After you write an internet marketing article, you want to maximize its exposure. The more visibility it gets, the more this article will work for you, and the more profit you will stand to make from it.

Internet marketers create backlinks to give their article this much needed exposure and to get the search engines to notice their articles. Backlinks are links that point back to your article from another website. The more important or higher ranking the website that is linking to your article, the more powerful the backlink will be.

Backlinks to your internet marketing article indicate the popularity of your article. The search engines take into account this popularity in order to rank your article. They want to provide their readers with the best, most sought after content, and to them backlinks is an indication.

When creating backlinks to your internet marketing articles, the most effective way is to create an anchor text link using your targeted keyword. In other words, use your targeted article keyword in the hyperlink pointing back to your article url from another website. If your article is about "dog training", use these words in your anchor text link, instead of using a url in your link, or simply "click here". This will strengthen the SEO to that article and that keyword.

So how do you create backlinks effectively?

1. Blogs. Go to blogs in the niche that you are writing about. Leave valuable comments (no spamming) and create a link back to your article. Wherever possible use the above described anchor text link in your post (instead of a url or name).
2. Forums. Include anchor text links in your forum signature block, if allowed. Again, use your targeted keywords in the hyperlink which points back to your article url. Every time you make a comment your link will be on every page that you post on.
3. Social bookmarking sites. Submit your article to social bookmarking sites. There are easy ways to do this. There are different programs which submit them to many sites at a time. I use Onlywire as well as SocialMaker. First you have to register with all the sites you want your article distributed to, which does take a little bit of time. But once you are registered it is very easy to submit to them through these services.
4. SEO linkbuilding services. Usually, for a monthly fee they will create backlinks for you, or they will give you chosen websites they have researched for creating backlinks. These tend to be very effective. Most are very pricey.
5. Videos. Create videos and submit them to a few video sites, and create backlinks back to your article or website. Video sites are very hot and can create a lot of search engine juice.

Get the most exposure from your internet marketing articles. Backlinking is one of the most important strategies that you can use.

Find a Website's Traffic

The goal to find a website's traffic can sometimes be a daunting one, unless you know where to look of course. There are many different methods that can be used in getting site traffic to our web-page URL, one of the more less understood and extremely under-rated methods is article marketing.

The main reason being I believe is the fact that most people seem to be of the opinion that it is very hard and also time consuming. This is far from the truth I assure you. Yes it can take a bit of time to write an article , about 20 minutes or so, but you can always hire a ghost writer to write on your behalf. If you have ever had a conversation with anyone about anything, I bet you could also write a short article about it. Write as if you were talking to a friend and helping him to understand a certain point of view etc etc. Not too hard now is it?

The fact that by just a simple task as writing a short article (you could do it in your lunch hour), will start you on your way to 'finding' a truck-load of website traffic. The next step is to get your article published, first on your own blog, then on an article distribution site. Once you have done that, the next step is to do it all over again! And again, and again.

The more articles that you get published, the more traffic you will suddenly 'find' that is coming to your web site and that a fact! This is the easiest method to find a websites traffic that I have ever used.

How to Find a Website's Traffic

It is always a great surprise to them when I show a website owner how they can find a website's traffic in a very simplified, quick and easy to understand way. The old kiss principle works again (keep it simple stupid!), although they are not stupid, they just didn't have access to the information on how to do it, until now, that is.

That's why I hate those books 'the dummies guide to...", why call someone a dummy if all they are guilty of is a lack of knowledge, which can be quickly rectified? Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox long enough to tell you how and where to find it.

To find a websites traffic, the first thing we need to look at is where do people go to look for information. Where did you go to read this article? That's a clue! Now if people go to article sites in search of information, chances are that they (if they like what they read) might just click through to the authors website, follow me so far?

Now, just suppose that instead of just reading articles, you decided to write a few, on what ever topic, but I'm sure there is something you have some good knowledge of that no one else knows, or you think they should know about an opinion of yours. By offering help to others in a non biased fashion, you are setting yourself up to become 'the expert'.

The truth is in reality, that you don't have to find a website's traffic at all. In actual fact, if you continue to write a steady list of articles about your preferred topic or website etc, then all of that traffic will find its way to your website and that's a fact.

Find a Website's Traffic - The Easy Way!

Hands up, all those who think that finding a website's traffic is 'Hard'? That's good, because a few short months ago, I thought the same way. Until I worked out how to get listed on the first pages of Google and Yahoo!.

The simple process I used to get a high ranking with the search engines was all due to article marketing. I simply followed a few guidelines and before I knew it my website rankings were sinking faster than the 'loch ness monster' (which is a good thing).

The way to find a websites traffic, really is in the small details that you must do when you decide to get serious about building your web business. The basic steps I took are listed below. Does it work? Well, one of my websites now holds number one page on Yahoo search engine with all of my articles in spots 2,3,6,8,9 and 10! So, yes, I think it does.

Step 1. Research Your Keywords.

Make sure that you research the latest and greatest keywords, you must find keywords that have a high volume of clicks and check to see that they do not have a lot of competition.

Step 2. Write Your Articles.

Write small concise articles (from 250 -450 words), just write a few paragraphs about the topic you have chosen .Be sure to use one keyword for every article you write. Plus make sure you put the keyword in title of the article.

Step 3. Publish your articles.

Next you have to publish your articles, first on your blog or web site, making sure to incorporate your keyword into the page URL. Then, once you have done that you can now publish your article on as many article distribution sites as you can, starting with this one.

Now, how hard was that? OK, I'm glad you liked doing it because now you will have to do it all over again, more keywords, more articles. The more articles you publish then the more traffic you will get. This is one of the best ways you can find a websites traffic, more particular your websites traffic will increase with every day.

4 Essential Tools To Create Traffic To A Website

When I started my online business, I spent lots of money on online advertising. I still believe that if you have no resources, advertising is the fastest and cheapest (in terms of opportunity cost) way to get lots of traffic.

But advertising costs you ‘time’ to set up the ad, ‘effort’ to monitor the progress and ‘money’ to post the ad. While I was heavily advertising, I was at the same time using 4 other tools to create traffic to my websites, and these are the 4 tools we’re going to discuss……

1) Referral And Reward System

The first tool to create traffic to a website is a referral and reward system.

I think most of you understand the importance of having a referral system for your website. But having a referral system for your website is not good enough. You need to have a reward system that can motivate your affiliates to recommend other people to your website.

Most rewards come in the form of money. But that is not good enough, especially when you are in the internet marketing industry where everyone is paying good money to affiliates. In addition to money, you have to think of other tangible and intangible rewards.

Many social networking sites don’t pay a dime to their users for referrals, yet their users are enthusiastically bringing their friends in. Observe the tricks these sites deploy. You’ll get some good ideas that you can use for your business.

2) Tell-A-Friend Script

I’m sure you are familiar with a tell-a-friend script. Nowadays, when you sign up a social networking site, the first thing you’re asked to do is to grab all the emails in your contact list and send an invitation to all of them.

Tell-a-friend script is a powerful tool to create traffic to a website. But you have to use it with care. This tool can easily be used to send spam invitation and the end result is your website becomes blacklisted by some mail-filtering services.

This was an annoying problem I faced in my early years.

Here’s a little story to share with you. Hope it’s not too boring…

I still remembered a time when I wrote to one of such mail-filtering services requesting for a removal of my website from their blacklist. I explained that the spam email was sent via a tell-a-friend script, not from us. But they didn’t buy my reason. I then argued that similar tools are available for websites like Facebook and I too receive tons of spam invitations from unknown individuals. Guess what, they replied and said they are Facebook, but we are not. When you’re small, you are bullied. Anyway, I continued to argue and I think they were tired of my persistence and eventually got my website removed from their blacklist.

Some of you may wonder why LeadsLeap doesn’t have a tell-a-friend script. That’s because I cannot afford to have this website and our mail server blacklisted. But we are in the process of developing a tell-a-friend script that can possibly minimize this problem… and the best part is we will make this script available to all our members when it’s ready. A programmer is working on it and it’s premature to say when it can be accomplished.

Till then, if you want a simple tell-a-friend script, you can find some free scripts at hotscripts.com.

3) Viral Tools

As online marketers, we should always think “viral marketing” because that’s one main advantage of the internet over the brick and mortar world.

Typical viral tools include:
- viral ebooks such as rebrandable ebooks and MRR ebook,
- viral software such as our rebrandable ID manager, and
- providing free online tools on your website, such as a free mortgage calculator or free keyword research tools.

Talking about providing free online tools as a form of viral marketing, the best example we can learn from is Google. Besides being a free search engine, Google provides free services such as map, keyword research tool, traffic tracking services etc. The idea is to provide useful tools to the world so that the world will come to you without you spending a dime in advertising.

4) SEOd Content

Last but not least, a must-have tool to create traffic to a website is SEOd Content - Search Engine Optimized Content.

I hope by now you know there is a difference between writing and writing for SEO. SEOd content is capable of attracting traffic from the search engines 24/7, without much effort from you, other than the initial effort of preparing the content.

This is where ‘blog’ comes into play because blog is a good content management platform. A blog is capable of creating thousands and thousands of traffic on 2 conditions:

- The backlinks to the website are well established.
- The individual article is well optimized for search engines.

Take LeadsLeap blog for example. As LeadsLeap.com is well linked from thousands of other websites, posting an SEOd content in its blog will easily get the article to the top search result and that will translate into free traffic from the search engines.

Same thing is happening to established article directories such as ezinearticles.com and buzzle.com.

Web Site Traffic Generation-How I Do It

Web site traffic generation is so important online, and I think because of that there are so many lousy companies out there that will try to sell you anything that even smells like traffic, and charge you full price. I doubt any of the guaranteed traffic sites get more than the first order – it crazy that they stay in business. But I guess they do because people think that they can get real traffic fast when they get started online, then they learn the truth – you have to work hard to get real traffic.

So how do I get real web site traffic?

Here is how I generate real web site traffic:

1) I write articles just like this. I think this is one of the most undertapped areas of web site traffic generation. Why? Because it is hard work. You have to simply write the articles. You cannot just use a machine to crank them out, you cannot just order 100 per week – you have to do the work. And because of this, the market continues to allow new people to come in and write articles.

2) PPC – I often talk against PPC because I don’t really like it. I think article marketing is better – but this still works for getting traffic to your web site. It allows you to get a lot of traffic fast for testing purposes – just don’t spend more than you can lose!

3) Search Engine Traffic - To do this you need lots of inbound links, and you can get those through:

a) article marketing

b) asking web masters to exchange links with you

c) submitting to web directories

Do you want to learn more about how I do it? I have just completed my brand new guide to article marketing success, 'Your Article Writing and Promotion Guide'

Active vs. Passive Website Traffic Generation

Many of my clients and list members ask the same questions when
it comes to generating website traffic. From the questions, I
can sometimes pick up a thread of misunderstanding about website
promotion. One of those threads surfaced last week and turned
into this article.

There are actually two broad types of website promotion: Active
and Passive.

Things that fall into the category of Passive are:

1) Search engine optimization
2) Writing and Growing Website Content (The pages on your site
whether they be articles, reports, your weblog, or a forum)

Many more website promotion tactics fall into the Active
Category:

1) Syndicating your content (like this article for example)
2) Paid advertising (Banner and test ads, pay-per-click
advertising, ezine advertising, etc.)
3) Linking strategies (Reciprocal and non reciprocal linking)
4) Being active in your "community" (Posting to forums that
your customers and associates frequent, for example.)
5) Doing teleseminars
6) Offline networking
7) Joint ventures with businesses who have the attention of
your target market.
8) Free classified advertising (Some people still see benefits
from this type of advertising to this day online.)
9) Offline media advertising (Radio, TV, Newspaper, Trade
Magazines and other publications, etc.)
10) Reports, software and other viral free tools that point back
to your paid services or products.

The two types of promotion are also referred to as "push/pull"
website promotion. Passive website promotion "pulls" traffic TO
your site while active promotion goes out on the web and "pushes"
traffic to your site.

Looking at the two lists above, where do you think, if you HAD
to choose between them, your time would be best spent?

Now I will never knock search engine marketing. That is a great
source of sometimes massive free traffic. Sometimes. Unless you
are in a niche that is very competitive. You see, if you are in
a competitive niche you will always be out-spent and out-worked
by companies with endless budgets and staff for the top positions.

Most mom and pop sites in competitive niches are not going to do
well in the search engines if they don't spend exorbitant sums
of time, training, and money on getting their sites perfected
just for search engines.

You should do what you can do with optimization. Do what you can
afford in time and money. Realize that search engine marketing
is an ongoing battle to get and keep good rankings. It is a long
term, ongoing traffic solution.

But also realize there is a lot of active promotion you can do
today to get people to your site who are interested in your
product/service whether your site is in the engines or not.

Most people still think you have to wait a long time to make
ANYTHING happen for your traffic stats to start improving.
That's not true. You could get a boost in traffic in as little
as a couple of hours using active website promotion strategies.

The simplest way would be to go to Google and start an adwords
campaign. Simply meaning, it is easy to start with an account
and create your first ad. But then more complicated in that you
need to actively watch your stats and improve conversion rates
to get the most return for the money you spend to get that
traffic.

It's a good strategy though, especially if you master the
science of PPC advertising. I have a bonus in my Power
Linking Course at http://power-linking-profits.com that was
created by Jonathan Mizel and Adwords guru Perry Marshall that
breaks down exactly what it takes to win the PPC game.

But there are other techniques listed in the active section
above that are free and easy to implement which can result in
traffic immediately.

Each one of the things in both lists above can be broken out
into much more detailed "plans" for your website marketing
campaign. It depends on your goals, your product or service, and
the amount of time you have to promote your site, which tactics
you use and how much time you allocate to each.

I'll give you a hint on one of the more powerful traffic and
branding tools. You are reading one right now. I would sell a
fraction of the number of my courses if people weren't able to
quickly and easily find several of my articles on hundreds of
sites in the search engines.

Writing articles and reports and syndicating them is a short
and long-term traffic and branding solution. I will caution you
on this though: Don't just write a slew of "words" and submit a
cruddy article all over the net. You will be branded alright.
Branded as a hack or a NON-expert in your field.

You have to care about the reader experience enough to give them
something of value in each article you write. This is the only
way you should proceed with becoming a writer and syndicating
your content. The more you give your readers, the more you get
from them in sales and word-of-mouth advertising.

After awhile, if you are good, people start seeking out your
articles on your site or elsewhere on the web. This is the
"sweet spot" of writing for the web. Writer's Mecca. Publisher's
Valhalla, if you will.

Hate to write? Hire a ghost writer. At http://webfoxmedia.com
you can get 10 keyword optimized 500+ word articles written for
you at a very good price. And you own the copyrights and can use
the articles as content for your site (passively) as well as
syndicate them globally (active promotion).

The best advice I can give you though is to become more active
in the things that work. Just get going and set aside a real
plan for your day-to-day promotion of your website. Don't get
into "quick-fixes" or let yourself fall for the latest traffic
scheme.

If you read about a traffic gimmick that leaves you wondering in
the least about its real efficacy in driving targeted traffic to
your site, just move on to the things above and don't waste your
time on such things.

If website promotion was truly easy and effortless, every site
on the net would have a tons of traffic and you wouldn't be
reading this article on how to get more of it!
